SOCIAL MEDIA ASSISTANT – MCMASTER SGS

Working with executive directors to organize, re-design and administrate the departmental website, which relaunched in September. Management of the website was achieved through Joomla, an open source CMS.

I maintained social networking services for the department by independently directing and editing short videos for the department’s YouTube channel, maintaining our twitter account, and utilizing Facebook for coordinating department events.

Responsible for designing print and web materials to promote events and graduate student services.

ECUMENICAL ADVOCACY ALLIANCE – GENEVA, CH

Tasked with the development of a custom Drupal 7 Theme and the migration of content from a pre-existing Typo 3 Installation to Drupal 7.

Managed the technical basis, navigational structure and coherence of the website to ensure quality, creativity, effectiveness and inclusivity in reaching an intended population.

Assisted in taking photographs, recording audio and video, and documenting Alliance work at key events.

The Ecumenical Advocacy Alliance (EAA) is an international network of over 90 churches and Christian organizations cooperating in advocacy on the issues of Food Security and on HIV/AIDS.

2012-2014

GRAPHIC & WEB DESIGNER – FACTOR[e] DESIGN

Utilized Adobe Illustrator to create several brand identities from early conceptual phases to final drafts, refined with direction from the Art Director and Creative Director of the company.

Designed Custom Websites from early wireframe planning stages in the browser using HAML and SASS in a Ruby on Rails environment.

Utilized Adobe InDesign to create print pieces ranging from business cards, to branded letterhead, to guideline documents, retail membership cards, posters, brochures and pamphlets for a variety of different clients.

Wrote blog posts on a variety of design topics to improve SEO ranking for the business using a proprietary CMS.

CREATIVE DIRECTOR – THRIVE GAMES

Responsible for the brand management of Thrive Games, and all production of art assets, including management of artists and contractors. Created the brand-mark of Thrive Games and the logo for Dragon of Legends.

Responsible for enforcing the art style of Dragon of Legends, which included the creation of documentation related to pixel art style guides. Managed a team of 5 artists for a number of months and coordinated regular art critiques. Created a number of art assets myself which include environmental tilesheets prepared for the open source software, Tiled.

Over the past 11 years, I led the development and execution of the company’s complete visual identity across print, digital, and environmental design. I was responsible for:

Overseeing and designing large-scale print advertisements and international tradeshow displays

Video editing and motion graphic production for marketing and internal communications

Establishing and enforcing brand guidelines, ensuring consistency across all platforms and departments

Oversee and maintain the brand’s physical presence across global office locations, including the design, placement, and consistency of branded materials such as wall art, signage, and promotional displays, ensuring alignment with corporate identity and values.
